For the overthinkers, achievers, and people who are great at taking care of everyone, but themselves.

Thoughtful, personalized therapy with a licensed clinical psychologist, for individuals and couples in Evanston and online.

You might be a good fit if…

— You hold yourself to impossible standards and feel like you're constantly falling short.

— You're going through the motions, but something feels off — even if you can't quite name it.

— Your relationships follow the same patterns and you're tired of the cycle.

— You're navigating a transition — new job, new city, breakup, joining or leaving school — and it's hitting harder than you expected.

— You've been the reliable one your whole life, and you're starting to feel the weight of it.

— You want to understand why you react the way you do, not just manage the symptoms.

The first session, often referred to as an intake, is focused on getting to know you and orienting you to therapy. Dr. Buckelew uses a conversational style, making the process feel more natural than clinical. You may discuss what brings you in, past experiences, patterns you have noticed, and what you hope might feel different. There is no expectation to have everything figured out. The goal is to understand your concerns and determine whether working together feels like the right fit.

Beyond the intake, sessions are shaped around what matters most to you. Some weeks may focus on a specific stressor or recent event. Other weeks may involve stepping back to look at broader patterns, such as how you relate to yourself, others, work, or pressure. Sessions may also include clarifying values, identifying recurring themes, building emotional awareness, or practicing new ways of responding when old patterns resurface.

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Dr. Buckelew draws from relational and attachment-based approaches, grounded in the belief that lasting change develops within a steady and attuned therapeutic relationship. At the same time, the work remains practical and collaborative. If something is not feeling helpful, it is discussed openly and adjusted together.

What we offer

Individual Therapy

For adults and adolescents working through anxiety, depression, perfectionism, relationship patterns, identity questions, life transitions, or that hard-to-name feeling that something is off and you’re looking for change.

Sessions are 50 minutes, weekly, in-person or via Zoom.

For partners who want to communicate more honestly, navigate conflict without shutting down, or reconnect during a difficult chapter.

You don't need to be in crisis to start. Many couples come in when things feel slightly off, before resentment builds.

Couples Therapy

Comprehensive ADHD and psychoeducational evaluations for when you need clarity and documentation.
