What we help with
-
Pressure keeps building and "good enough" feels like a mystery. We help you hold onto your healthy ambition while working through the overwhelm of overthinking.
-
The procrastination trap, the imposter syndrome, the burnout nobody seems to take seriously. We work with students and early-career adults in balancing productivity and rest.
-
Trouble staying organized, starting projects, or managing time doesn't mean you're lazy. We offer therapy and comprehensive ADHD evaluations to help you understand how your brain works and build strategies that actually fit your life.
-
You're doing fine on paper, but something feels off. Your life is built around others' expectations, or you keep putting their needs before your own. We help you reconnect with your authentic self and what you actually want.
-
A new job, a breakup, a move, a new school. Even changes you chose can be disorienting. We help you find your footing without rushing the process.
-
No matter where you are in understanding your gender or sexual identity, we meet you with validation and support. We provide affirming care where you are respected and feel understood.
What We Help With
-
Hormonal changes, postpartum adjustment, fertility stress, the mental load of managing everything. We understand the impact of these factors on your mental health and offer a safe space that is dedicated fully to you.
-
Sometimes we find ourselves in familiar relationship patterns that don't work for us anymore, but we can't seem to make lasting change. We help you understand where those patterns started and resolve the endless cycle.
-
The same arguments keep happening, intimacy feels lost, maybe you don't feel understood anymore. We help couples get honest about what isn't working and rebuild from there.

I work with many students, graduate students, and early-career professionals who are smart, driven, and completely burning out. They’re used to performing at a high level and have built their identity around achievement, so when things start to slip, it feels like a personal failure rather than a sign that something might need to be adjusted.
I know the pressure isn’t just internal. The world feels increasingly uncertain — economic anxiety, job market instability, political tension, the rising cost of living, and mounting crises are stressors that press upon already demanding academic and professional environments.
I have the space to contain your anxieties and tension, while simultaneously collaborating with you to discern what’s coming from within and outside. We’ll work together to identify what’s within your control to effect meaningful change.

Women’s mental health is the area of my work that I am most passionate about. My doctoral research focused specifically on the intersection of women’s holistic health, parenthood, and domestic labor, and I have specialized training in perinatal mental health.
I carry a deep understanding of how societal expectations, identities, relational dynamics, and systemic pressures uniquely shape each woman’s experience. I understand the importance of listening to you on multiple levels, and I utilize my clinical expertise and a robust professional support network to bolster and uplift you.
Whether you’re considering a major life change, feeling the weight of managing your household or family, struggling with your sense of identity, or running on empty and need a place just for yourself, my practice is designed for you.

Sometimes the most disorienting moments in life aren’t crises. They’re choices we make and even want — a new career, a move, starting a family, leaving a relationship, or going back to school. The transitions we’re excited about can come with unexpected pressure, grief for what we’re leaving behind, and a shaky sense of who we’ll become on the other side.
I’ve worked with clients at every phase of a big change, and what I’ve found is that transitions tend to surface questions that may have been dormant for a while, about identity, values, and what you actually want your life to look like.
I help you slow down and make sense of what feels confusing. We process the grief and growth side by side, as they usually show up together. We clarify where your agency lives, so you can make decisions from a grounded place, rather than a reactive one.

The first session, often referred to as an intake, is focused on getting to know you and orienting you to therapy. Dr. Buckelew uses a conversational style, making the process feel more natural than clinical. You may discuss what brings you in, past experiences, patterns you have noticed, and what you hope might feel different. There is no expectation to have everything figured out. The goal is to understand your concerns and determine whether working together feels like the right fit.
Beyond the intake, sessions are shaped around what matters most to you. Some weeks may focus on a specific stressor or recent event. Other weeks may involve stepping back to look at broader patterns, such as how you relate to yourself, others, work, or pressure. Sessions may also include clarifying values, identifying recurring themes, building emotional awareness, or practicing new ways of responding when old patterns resurface.
Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Dr. Buckelew draws from relational and attachment-based approaches, grounded in the belief that lasting change develops within a steady and attuned therapeutic relationship. At the same time, the work remains practical and collaborative. If something is not feeling helpful, it is discussed openly and adjusted together.
